Bí đao gọt vỏ, rửa sạch, cắt miếng vừa ăn. Tép rửa sạch. Nấm kim châm cắt bỏ gốc, rửa sạch. Đun sôi nồi nước, cho bí đao vào nấu 2 - 3 phút rồi cho tép vào nấu lửa nhỏ. Khi bi chín thì thả nấm vào, đảo đều, tiếp đó đập trứng gà vào chén đánh ran rồi chế trứng vào canh, khuấy đều. Nêm chút muối, dầu mè là xong rồi đó.
