Dưa leo rửa sạch, với quả nhỏ thì cắt 2 đầu rồi xoa mủ đề phòng dưa bị chát. Dùng má dao đập dập dưa, khoảng 3-4 nhát là được rồi. Sau đó chẻ đôi và cắt chéo miếng vừa ăn. Trong chén, trộn đều hỗn hợp nước sốt gồm nước tương, giấm đen, đường, tỏi giã nát và dầu mè, dầu ớt. Đánh đều cho đường tan

Cho dưa leo ra tô, rưới đều hỗn hợp sốt vừa trộn, xóc đều lên cho dưa áo đều sốt. Rắc thêm ít mè trắng rang lên là có thể dùng.
